Build a move-in budget by timing each possible cost instead of treating one quoted rent as the full amount. Separate refundable, non-refundable, recurring, and outside expenses.

Which cost categories should be on the budget?

Ask when each amount is due and what is conditional. Include application-stage charges, amounts due at lease signing, utility setup, coverage, moving supplies or services, and the first month's recurring obligations.

  • Current rent and unit-specific security deposit.
  • Application or lease charges confirmed by leasing.
  • Utilities and required liability coverage.
  • Approved-pet charges and optional parking when applicable.
  • Moving, furnishing, cleaning, and address-change expenses.

Which Blair Street amounts are currently approved?

The active unit listing controls its security deposit. Published costs include an $80 monthly water, sewer, and trash bundle; qualifying liability coverage; pet charges for approved pets; and $20 monthly covered parking when available. Gas and electric must be in the resident's name by move-in.
